Jamaica International Independence Foreign Song Competition (JIIFSC) is a 501( c )3 registered entity which seeks to engage your support in the form of sponsorship toward the third staging of our annual event, in Atlanta, Georgia, on July 29, 2023.
Founded and established by Garfield “Gary-G” McCook in 2020, himself an artiste and entrepreneur, his vision of providing a platform for showcasing the musical talents of Jamaicans in the diaspora has been realized through this competition, and is open to Jamaicans, or persons of Jamaican descent, in the around the world with the exception of Jamaica.
JIIFSC does not solicit entries from Jamaican based entrants, nor does it engender rivalry or competition with the long established JCDC Festival Song Competition, in Jamaica.
The three staged vetting and selection process incorporates public participation, music industry professionals, and a judges’ panel.
Our inaugural event in 2021 which amassed global entries, saw online participation of over 5,000 during the pandemic’s highpoint. In 2022, online participation exceeded 18,000.
Our appeal is growing across borders and, accordingly, so are the associated costs of staging such an event.
